it's a long one.

i found a way to write korean minus the program and knowing where the characters are on the keyboard.

oh and KCN was AMAZING!
the story, the characters, the music, the use of traditional and modern dance, of course POONGMUL, the use of documentary, and of course, the unseen staff's planning that includes everything, fundraising, minor but huge detailing, pure stressing, and praying. it was seriously so touching.

some pictures.. significance will be relative, so take it for what it's worth :)

i drove.
kcn 2007 005
to westwood.
kcn 2007 102
and to ktown.

lunch: delicious roll-in pastrami.

question:
kcn 2007 013
which of us 3 do you miss the most?
to be quite honest, this wasn't the thought we had in mind.. but since you are, as you say, emo, we shall let this be the visible caption, though of course, i'm sure you can read our minds.

we are NOT tourist.
kcn 2007 018
we are alumni.

got this pose out of vince by saying
kcn 2007 042
say hi to korea. hi linda! hi jane!

and for a little while, it was old hanoolim.. whatever that is. and for 5 minutes, they could be babies again.

and it was bittersweet.

last, but not least of course.

too mushy to say out loud..

but the people i want to say this to, read xanga anyway, so it is directed to you

i've realized:

a day is long.

a week can also be long.

but a month is short.

and a year is even shorter.

so even if you left for korea half a year ago, or will be leaving for thailand very soon, don't worry. there are days when i miss you or will miss you. there are times when i really feel your absence and moments when it would be perfect to just do whatever it is that we do together. but honestly, i always feel your presence in my life and really, it's like you never left, or will leave.

today was a perfectly fine, lovely, nice day..

today was good.

good weekend before going back to school.

started with work being nice and easy.

then had yogurt with my local shaahngee.

then had dinner with family. sushi. many yums.

then ran errands with my brother and bought my doggy treats.

then finally, now organizing and ordering pictures eating ben & jerry's.

it just doesn't get any simpler or better - being with loved ones and good food.

it's gonna take me another day at least to finish ordering the pictures but since tomorrow is sunday and regular church attendance is my (our) new commitment, will go to sleep early tonight.

i'll leave by posting some pictures... really random (old) ones from long long time ago.. nothing special about them except they just brought a smile..

many miss yous, thank yous, and see yous.

it's almost 3am. where's my family?

anyways..

prompted by my dearest: "how come you stopped updating?" (and a catharsis i didn't even know i had in me, and not enough episodes of censored sex and the city), i'm updating.

i always have fresh flowers on my desk. not in the princess way but because my parents have been going to this exercise thing on the weekends and they always stop by the flower market on saturdays and buy flowers for the week.

the first time my mom placed flowers on my desk, i stopped and smelled the flowers. it made me so happy, esp. since they were from mom. i probably did that the next week too. but today, probably many months down the line, i realized i don't even notice the different flowers that appear on my desk. when did i stop smelling them? even noticing them? i seriously mean it literally but i'm gonna stop and smell the flowers. and i mean it in the cliche sense as well, i guess.

i guess thinking back, the past year (doesn't even feel like a new year really though) was tough.
this coming year promises to be tougher, in so many ways. and i wanna take on the challenge, but i wanna shy away as well.

maybe a year ago, i went to daily morning prayer service for about 6 months or so. prayers are answered, sometimes with yes and sometimes with no and because i am of such little faith, eventually it became a conditional prayer request, with a concrete, visible sign that would be my affirmation. i worked really hard for it and even though it's inconsistent, He knows my heart. 4.0. and regardless of what future numbers will be (though i hope it stays that way), i'm at peace. praise god

church is tough. it never used to be. church was easy. it was what i looked forward to, what i enjoyed. i had a my church. how did church ever get to be an issue for me? but i have my new accountability, fellow we shall find a church partner, pinky swear and all. any recommendations on some good churches to be checked out?

what i'm realizing more is that the twenties are so dynamic. i'm not doing anything but yet there is so much going on. and i guess it can get complicated if things slow down enough for thinking time but then again, there's only so much i can do and i do try my best and in the end, i know it all turns out okay and when i take time to look back, there's humor, even in the pain, in the life kind of way.

so, i guess what i'm trying to say is that we can do it.

oh btw, i drove home from the gym 3 times, on the freeway. find the significance in that statement, huh?

another side note but i have a goal, perhaps a financial one more than anything.
